Watery Kent
I have been combining my love of the Kentish countryside with my love of mucking about with salt and different brushes and tools. I am trying to keep myself loose which is extremely hard as I am so used to getting fiddly and stylised with my Rotring pens.
I used to think that you were a jack of all trades if you had different styles but as I get older and wizened, I realise that creative people just love to try out all sorts of new things and different media definitely informs your style.
I always use a limited palette but that doesn't mean that I have to have a limited art cupboard. I am obsessed with all of the different colours and transparencies. My current favourites are the mini Jackman paints (the tiny tubes are so cute!) especially the ones that madly granulate. Jade Green separates into yellow patches, Perylene has a lovely dusky transparency and Autumn foliage is just so delightfully autumny...
I am hoping that my current art project will stave off the Autumnal blues. I do love the seasonal colours but I am very much a lizard, who loves a sunny patch. V
